PrepKitchen
Software for meal prep businesses
A subscription and production system for meal prep businesses. Nobody has built software for this, so these kitchens run on spreadsheets, WhatsApp and memory.
The Problem
What it solves
- Meal prep is a subscription business running on tools built for one-off orders. Nothing off the shelf understands a customer who pays monthly, eats twice a week, and is away next Tuesday.
- How much to cook on Sunday night is a guess. Guess high and food is thrown away; guess low and somebody is called to be told their meal is not coming.
- Who has paid this cycle lives in a phone gallery of transfer screenshots and a spreadsheet that is already out of date.
- Skips, pauses and address changes arrive as WhatsApp messages at midnight and are remembered, or are not.
- Allergies and dietary preferences are on a sticky note by the stove, which is a food-safety problem waiting to happen.
- Renewals are chased by hand, one message at a time, and the ones nobody chased are simply lost.
The Solution
How it works differently
- Subscribers and plans as the core record — weekly, monthly, how many meals, which days — rather than orders bolted into a shopping cart.
- A production sheet that says exactly how many portions of each dish to make for a delivery date, totalled across every subscriber.
- Skips, pauses and holds that the customer sets themselves, before the cut-off, without messaging anyone.
- Payment taken per cycle in your own currency — naira, pounds or dollars — after the cut-off, so a skipped week is simply not charged.
- Packing labels and a delivery run built from the same records, so the kitchen, the driver and the books never disagree.
- Two ways to run it: hosted by us, or installed on your own WordPress site with our plugin.
Key Features
What the product does.
The production sheet
For any delivery date: how many portions of every dish, totalled across all active subscribers, minus the skips. The number that decides what you buy and what you cook — and the difference between guessing and knowing is money you stop throwing away.
Plans and subscribers
Weekly and monthly plans, meals per week, chosen delivery days, start dates and renewal dates. A subscriber is a person on a plan, not a series of unrelated orders.
Menu cycles and choices
Publish next week's menu, let subscribers choose or assign for them, and close selections at a cut-off you set. Everything after the cut-off is final, which is what makes the production sheet trustworthy.
Skips, pauses and holds
A subscriber travelling next week sets it themselves and their cycle extends. No midnight message, nothing to remember, and the kitchen sees it in the totals immediately.
Payments in your own currency
Naira, pounds or dollars — whichever your kitchen sells in. Cards through Stripe or Paystack depending on where you are, and in Nigeria a dedicated account number per subscriber so bank transfers arrive already identified instead of being matched by hand. Due, paid and overdue are a screen rather than an evening.
Allergies and preferences
Held against the subscriber and printed on every label and production line, so what somebody cannot eat is in the kitchen rather than on a sticky note.
Packing labels and delivery runs
A label per container with the customer, the dish and the allergens, and a delivery list per driver grouped by area.
Retention you can see
Who renews, who lapses, who has skipped three weeks running. The warning signs of a customer about to leave, while there is still time to call them.
How It Works
From setup to steady state.
- 01
Set up your plans
What you sell — meals per week, delivery days, price per cycle — and the dishes you rotate through.
- 02
Take subscribers
Through your own WordPress site with our plugin, a hosted signup page, or entered by your staff.
- 03
Publish the menu
Subscribers choose before the cut-off. Anyone who does not gets your default.
- 04
Cook to the sheet
One page tells the kitchen exactly what to make. Labels and delivery runs print from the same data.
- 05
Get paid
Cycles renew, transfers reconcile themselves, and you chase only who is actually overdue.
Who it's for
- Meal prep kitchens selling weekly or monthly plans, in Nigeria, the UK or the US
- Diet and fitness meal services with per-customer macros and restrictions
- Home kitchens that grew past the spreadsheet and are now turning subscribers away
- WordPress site owners who want the system on the site they already have
Technology & infrastructure
- Subscription and delivery-cycle model built for recurring plans rather than one-off carts
- Production totals computed from live subscriptions, selections and skips
- Multi-currency by tenant — each kitchen operates in one currency, so amounts are never converted and never mixed
- Payment provider selected per currency, with dedicated virtual accounts where the market has them
- Its own database and tenancy, independent of every other Cresslink product
- A WordPress plugin that talks to the same API, so a site owner runs the system without leaving WordPress
- Cloud hosting with automated backups and monitoring
Pricing
Subscription, tiered by active subscribers
Published at launch, priced in your own currency. Your kitchen charges its subscribers in naira, pounds or dollars — whichever you sell in. The WordPress plugin is included; the same account runs either way. Early partners are onboarded directly by the Cresslink team.
